Fully accessible restrooms are available. Courtesy golf cart service is available between the Park and our parking. Accessible parking is available in Parking Lot M, directly adjacent to Young Park. Services for patrons who are blind or have low vision: Service animals, such as guide dogs, are welcome. Audio-described performances (see details below) Audio Description & ASL performances: July 7 & 8, 2022 (Backup rain dates July (9th & 14th) Sensory Friendly Performances: July 3rd & July 16th (Backup rain dates July 15th) Audio Description allows those who are visually impaired to more fully enjoy a live performance through a verbal description of the stage production. The visually impaired patron wears a single earpiece connected to a personal headset receiver. A trained audio describer provides live, verbal descriptions of actions, costumes, scenery and other visual elements of the live performance, which is transmitted to the headsets so only those wearing them hear the supplemental description as well as the dialog. This service is offered free of charge to visually impaired patrons. ASL interpreter performances: All dialogue is translated into American Sign Language. A Sensory Friendly performance is a theater production that welcomes individuals with sensory needs, including people on the autism spectrum, as well as first-time theatergoers. The production staff has taken note of the potentially startling moments in the play and will make the audience aware of these moments by raising an orange traffic cone, when a startling moment within the story is about to occur. When the moment has passed the cone will come down. This is our way of ensuring every audience member views a production the creative team intended.

Come early to get a great seat on the lawn (blankets and folding chairs encouraged. No tarps, please.). The fun starts at 6:00pm! For your convenience, below are answers to the questions we receive most frequently. How much are tickets? We do not sell tickets for Shakespeare on the Green. It is created as an admission-free event. We do however, ask for a $10 - $20 minimum goodwill donation at the door to offset the costs associated with creating the event and to help keep it accessible for everyone year after year. When does the performance begin? The play will start at 8:00pm, but events and activities start as early as 6:00pm. How long is the play? The performance runs roughly two and a half hours. Between Acts in each play there is one fifteen minute intermission (included in the two and a half hours). Where can I park? Parking is available all over UNO's campus. Arrive early for the best spots or become a member for reserved parking! Are there souvenirs/concessions? Yes. Towne Square, located near the entrance to the park, offers dinner options and an assortment of ShakesGear for purchase. When should I arrive? We recommend arriving early to get better parking, pick your spot on the green, and take part in the full On The Green Experience. You may also lay out blankets (no tarps, please) prior to arrival for the performance as early as 12:00pm. What should I bring? We recommend bringing a blanket or chairs, bug spray, taking advantage of our food vendors, or packing a picnic! Can I bring alcohol? Yes. While alcohol is not sold by Nebraska Shakespeare, audience members (of legal drinking age) are permitted to bring wine or beer to the event. Bug spray? Are there bugs? We utilize an eco-friendly bug spray throughout the park prior to each week of performances, but still recommend bringing some for personal use. Can I bring children? Shakespeare On The Green is intended to be family (and pet) friendly, including interactive activities for children prior to performances. Children under the age of 12 should be accompanied by an adult at all times. What about weather? In case of inclement weather, a cancellation decision will be made 15-minutes prior to the performance. If inclement weather develops during the performance, a short "hold" or delay will be announced. Are there makeup performances? Shakespeare does not reschedule performances canceled due to inclement weather. Every effort will be made to inform our audience of cancellations via the local media, on our Facebook page and on Instagram.
